You know that feeling when you take your first sip of coffee in the morning, and suddenly color returns the world? That feeling is the driving force behind newcomer to the Boone coffee scene, Talia’s Espresso. “Our philosophy is to be aware of our customers so that we may best serve our community, in any way we can,” says shop manager Brianna, an Appalachian State graduate who's been working with Talia's since 2013. Talia’s homebase bistro style coffee house opened in North Wilkesboro in 2005, then opened a drive-thru just outside of Boone on highway 421 in 2012. When the opportunity came to directly serve the Boone community t, owners Jim and Cathy Cozak ran up the mountain to open the newest addition to the Talia’s Espresso family, right in the heart of downtown Boone. With coffee beans from a Greensboro, NC roaster, and locally sourced produce for smoothies, plus a variety of handmade pastries, Talia’s strives “for a casual grab-and-go coffee experience,” Brianna told us. “We’re so excited to be in Boone because we feel this town truly appreciates the art of the craft,” she continued. “We aren’t a roastery, which is a craft in itself, but instead Talia’s focus is on the art of making espresso. ” The pearl of their operation is their gleaming La Marzocco espresso machine, imported from Florence, Italy. “Talia’s is focused on the quality of the product we serve the community, ultimately what we really want to do is serve Boone the best drinks and pastries possible.” Though dining room service is currently closed due to state mandates around COVID-19, customers may visit www.taliasespresso.com to view a full menu and order a call-in/to-go or curbside pick-up to enjoy their handcrafted espresso beverages and relish in that technicolor feeling!
